Her mother won't admit that she needs special help so Helen doesn't get embarrassed or because she thinks that she herself is just doing quite fine teacher her. When offered a chance to go to the special ed room only for reading she wants to go but her mother won't let her. The book 6th grade can really kill you is a great book about the adventures of one girl named Helen and her adventures to Junior high. I really enjoyed the topic of this book and i liked how they explained the troubles of dyslexia throughout the year.
